EAGERNESS provided an official response after Marius Şumudică was offended reside on a tv in Turkey of Erman Toroglu, former Turkish footballer and referee.
The Romanian manager responded shortly after Toroglu called him a”gypsy” and said he did not have to be defended.
We respect the right to freedom of expression, but the mindset and messages of the TV commentator Erman Toroglu have surpassed the limits of decent comments / remarks.
We are amazed and disappointed in how Mr. Erman Toroglu considered it appropriate to make tests against Marius Șumudica, particularly since he’s a former football player and referee.
There is no justification for the terms and credentials he utilized in a televised discussion on a respectable television channel like Aspor.
We ask the Aspor television channel to tackle, on behalf of the tv station, a public apology to Mr. Marius Șumudica and we urge that in the long run they pick their collaborators more attentively.
We also demand a firm reaction from the Turkish government, like what they had in the case of Romanian referee Sebastian Colțescu, otherwise all anti-racist and anti-discrimination allegations made in public space will be considered”empty phrases” without policy. According to renowned principles”, shown in the official website of AFAN.
Marius Șumudică:”He insulted me, it is his job”
The Romanian trainer had Answer elegant for Toroglu, who left him live a”gypsy”, despite the moderator’s efforts to temper him.
“He offended me, but I do not want to answer him. He insulted me, it is his company. My parents are Romanian, I’m Romanian, I don’t have anything to do with Roma ethnicity. I don’t wish to answer him, I can not educate him. I don’t need anybody’s help in the nation, I do not feel the need.
I’m not in the position of what that guy said, ” I do not want anyone to defend me. I belong to Romania and I’m proud to be Romanian. I acknowledge my mistakes when I make them, but today we must discuss football. Those who are here will never find what I did !”
