CATSKILL, NY — Authorities say a New York state man is in serious condition in a hospital after police used a taser to subdue him and he caught fire.
According to The Times Union of Albany, the man, aged 29, walked into Catskill Police Department and confronted officers.
Chief Dave Darling claims officers used a taser on the man to subdue him and that he was set on fire.
According to The Times Union, the man was taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of burns and trauma. He remains in serious condition.
A lawyer representing the family of the victim declined to comment on the details.
